The Signal, the event space and concert hall located at the Chattanooga Choo Choo has a new owner, Marathon Acquisition. With an ownership change, the business had to apply for and was given a new permit to sell consumer beer at the events held there throughout the year.
Atmosphere, a bar owned and operated by the Eleusis Group, is due to open in June at 807 Market St. During the day time, it will be a coffee shop selling coffee, smoothies and baked goods along with hemp-based products from a dispensary. At night, beer and cocktails using special ingredients will be sold. The business is described as “not just a venue, it’s a portal to a realm where reality blurs, and the senses reign supreme.”
Tennessee Crown Distributing Co. with its original location in Memphis and another in Nashville, has opened a new location in Chattanooga at 3875 N. Hawthorn St. The business is known as one of the top distributors for wine, spirits, beer and nonalcoholic beverages in the Tennessee area. It has been approved by the city of Chattanooga for a distributor license.
Several convenience stores were approved for new carry-out beer permits by the Chattanooga Regulatory Bureau after satisfying all the requirements from the city. A new Weigel at 3107 Amnicola Highway, MAPCO at 8126 E. Brainerd Road, and The Neighborhood Market located at 909 Dodson Avenue were all given licenses to sell beer. And Food City has received a permit to sell carry-out at their new location at 6651 Lee Highway.
