McCallie Soccer Loses In State Soccer Championship Shootout

The McCallie boys soccer team came up short in penalty kicks Thursday afternoon in their state championship soccer game against MBA. After playing to a 1-1 tie in regulation both teams would score a goal in overtime forcing the shoutout.

MBA scored in the third minute and held the lead until the second half when Brooks Hilger converted a penalty kick in the 56th minute.  

In overtime, MBA scored first but Hilgers answered late in the second period forcing the penalty kick shoutout. 

MBA out shot McCallie 19-14.  Will Neely had six saves for McCallie. 

McCallie finished the season with a 16-2-3 record.
