Hamilton County EMS Gives Reminders On Dealing With Heat

  • Monday, June 23, 2025
As temperatures rise, Hamilton County EMS reminds everyone to take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. High heat can be dangerous—especially for children, seniors, and those with medical conditions.

The following are recommendations they released:

Here’s how you can stay safe -
• Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water—even if you’re not thirsty.
• Stay Cool: Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and avoid direct sun.
• Stay Indoors During Peak Heat: Try to stay inside between 10 a.m.
and 4 p.m.
• Never Leave Kids or Pets in Cars: Even with windows cracked, temps can rise quickly and become deadly.
• Check on Vulnerable Neighbors: Make sure the elderly or those with health conditions are cool and safe.

Know the signs of heat exhaustion -
• Heavy sweating
• Weakness or dizziness
• Nausea or vomiting
• Headache

Heat stroke is a medical emergency! Call 911 if you notice -
• Confusion or unconsciousness
• Hot, dry skin
• Rapid heartbeat

"Hamilton County EMS is always ready to respond—but prevention starts with you. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and stay cool this summer," officials said.
