Julie Wooten
Julie Wooten, 46, of East Ridge, passed away on June 10, 2025.
She was born on Feb. 21, 1979, in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. Julie was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High School, Class of 1998. She worked as the nutritional supervisor for Spring Creek Elementary School. Julie was an active member of her church, Action Church. She loved working with children, and she was an animal lover, especially cats.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Juanita Wooten and Hubert Phillips.
Left behind to cherish Julie’s memory are her daughter, Taylor Dixon, mother, Teresa Sewell (Randy), father, Raymond “Butch” Wooten (Solange), brother, Jay Wooten (Noel), Sister, Janet Wooten, brother, Pedro Mattos, sisters, Jessica and Isabella Wooten, brother, Jake Sewell (Tiffany), sister, Miranda Gordon (Ben), several nieces and nephews, many cousins, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Julie’s Life will be held in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home on Friday, June 13, at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Beard officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday June 12, at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. She will be laid to rest following the service in Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Julie’ s memory can be made to the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Cancer Center.
