Colonial Dames XVIIC Prudhomme Fort Chapter Installs Officers

Prudhomme Fort Chapter of the Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century met recently at ‘By The Garden Gate’ Tea Room, attended by members and prospective members.  

Speaker Jeanette Williams, State Chaplain, gave a presentation on ‘Coat of Arms’ acquirement with handouts for reference. Officers for the 2025-2027 term in Prudhomme Fort Chapter were installed by Debra Wilson, state 1st vice president: Janet Cantrell, chapter president; Susan Whelchel, recording secretary; and Pauline Moore, treasurer.

Officials said, "Prudhomme Fort Chapter is involved in local, state and national community service: preservation of historic records and sites; fosters interest in Colonial research; aids in the education of our youth; commemorates the heroic deeds of our ancestors the founders of our great Republic; and encourages to maintain those high principles of virtue, courage and patriotism which led to the independence of the colonies and the foundation and establishment of the United States of America.

"Highlights of past achievements: historic Williamsburg Cemetery in Athens, Tn.; by recognizing outstanding individuals in early American history with cemetery cleaning and Dedication Day; speakers on Colonial history; service to Veterans through ‘Quilts of Valor’ presentations; Honor Flight sponsorship; and volunteering at the Chattanooga Outpatient Veterans Clinic.
