James "Jimmy" Chamberlain
James "Jimmy" R. Chamberlain Jr., 95, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family.
Born on Nov. 21, 1929, Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. He graduated and received his architectural degree from Georgia Tech, he served as president of the Chattanooga Board of Realtors, he was commodore of the Chattanooga Yacht Club, the developer of Lakeshore Apartments and Condominiums, and president of Chamberlain Real Estate Sales. Jimmy proudly served our country in the United States Navy.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James Robert and Catherine Seiner Chamberlain; his sisters, Caroline (Jack) Messick, JoAnne (Bennett) Johnson and Elizabeth (Bob) Kuhn.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gerry Chamberlain; his daughters, Debbie (Bruno) Opitz, Kim Narramore, Ashley (John Pearson) Chamberlain and Justine Goodrow, granddaughters, Chamberlain Iocovozzi, Niamh O’Dwyer, and Lilli Narramore, his sisters, Kay Henson, Mary Breen, sister-in-law, Jeanne Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jimmy loved boating and spending time on the lake with his family and friends. He treasured this time with his family. Jimmy will be missed by all at Lakeshore, you would see him walking nearly every day, rain or shine.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Adoration Hospice for taking such good care of Jimmy. Particularly Katy, Jamie, and Ally who treated Jimmy with kindness, compassion, and friendship over the past months.
Visitation is on Wednesday, May 7, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church located at 930 Ashland Terrace followed by Mass at 11:30 a.m., which will be celebrated by Fr. Alex Waraksa.
