Earthquake That Struck Saturday Morning Below Knoxville Was Felt All Over Chattanooga Area

An earthquake that struck south of Knoxville on Saturday morning was felt throughout the Chattanooga area. The United State Geological Service said the center was 21 miles south of Greenback, Tn. It hit at 9:04 a.m. The depth was at 15.4 miles. Amy Dover lives off Ooltewah–Ringgold Road and said her house shook for about 25 to 30 seconds. Other r esidents in the area reported the same thing. A bicyclist was struck and killed off Highway 58 at Murray Hills on Saturday morning. At 7:17 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist at the intersection of the 4400 block of Oakhill Road and Sterchi Drive behind the Speedway. Misty Carelli Dies From Car Crash Injuries That Earlier Claimed Her Husband

Misty Carelli, 52, of Hixson has died from injuries suffered in a car crash in Mount Nebo, West Va., last Monday. Her husband, Ronald Carelli, died earlier after their vehicle ran into the back of a highway department dump truck at a stoplight. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. The Chattanooga Lookouts fell to the Knoxville Smokies on Thursday night by a score of 3-0. The Lookouts could muster only three hits on the evening, all of which were singles.
